In a series of interviews, the everyday heroes of Svetlana Alexievich upcoming novel come forward with their deepest most intimate love stories: Knowing love living it, being it and having the of loosing it.
Alexevich in her straightforward yet metaphoric way of concepting and writing untangles a web of complex narratives. Like the topic she wishes to highlight on the cusp of the various states of love.
“For several years, Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Alexievich investigated Russian people’s relationship of love. Which, she means, is an acute shortage of today’s society. Documentary film director Staffan Julén followed her work and together they depict a process driven by equal parts of political, artistic and humanistic forces.” The film is an intricate tapestry of interwoven stories that express the essence of love, the byzantine paths it can take, and its power to survive, even in the most desperate circumstances. But it also sings of madness, pain, longing and emptiness in a harsh reality that values people by status and money.

"The world isn't everything" depicted as a erratic and abrupt monologue, composed from conversations and preliminary inquiries between immigration agents and immigrants.
Dir. by Clayton Vomero / written by Jeremy O. Harris / shot by Sean Price Williams / featuring Ashton Sanders and Telfar's 2020 collection. Produced by Somesuch.
EverythingLostLivedAnything is a short-form journey inspired by true events. ELLA is a film composed of forgotten footage taken from various image capture devices. People, animals and objects moving between conscious states, instances of dialogue between a woman and a man appear and expire abruptly. Although revealed in dismay, unattached monochromatic images create consistency and meaning merely by its linear association.
".decimal places" is not only the position of a digit to the right of the decimal point in a decimal number, but also a new visual project created by Kasafilms.
Lilies is an online representation of an archive of unique geometrical lightweight structures. We document, investigate and display indexed sets of prototypical flexible "living" patterns.
The series contains a collection of 11 models made of contrasting components — cotton and responsive active gel — IsoPropylAcrylamide-N, which shrinks in water as the temperature rises. This is a new approach to constructing soft, shape-transforming sheets and the first demonstration of the ability to design and control a hybrid sheet made of responsive gel and textile.
The sheet is immersed in a temperature controlled container filled with water. Temperature changes make the gel contract under the constraints imposed by the pattern, and as a result the sheet warps into a three-dimensional shape. In order to investigate these formations and explore their behaviour, we selected five elementary types of patterns: an angular pattern of diverging rays, a concentric pattern and a pattern of parallel strips.
Working in the lab, we've examined the relationship between shape and material through a method that converts a two-dimensional object into a three-dimensional structure. The unique characteristics of the gel and the work process it dictates, as well as choosing to work on a small- scale, has allowed us to enjoy the immediacy of the manufacturing process. In addition, the spontaneity of each sketch and gave us a direct and intuitive observation of the material. Through an array of simple exercises, we've discovered a connection between details in the structures and how they create tensions, morphologies and rhythms within it. This, in order to offer a new point of view regarding simple structures and complex geometries. Our guiding principal was to experiment with simple values which include the most basic graphic elements; lines, curves, and where the meet, while withstanding any embellishment that is not pertinent to the structure. As it is difficult to create irregularities and poetic variation through mass production, we've attempted to redefine a way of utilizing a new work method adjusted for materials.
This research is a collaboration with the The Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. It means to expose, explore and advance structural and engineerical thought through debating the aesthetic potential of experimental objects and developing these objects within a series of models which embody the idea of physical programming of material.

"As long as ropes unravel fake rolex will travel," Kasafilms' latest short film title is inspired by a Dean Blunt's track bearing the same name; Even though, both share similar names they are two different entities created separately within the climate of their respective art forms using a different set of rules, tools, and intentions. Finally, when the two pieces merged in one, they formed a new structure, which by its own existence created a brand new narrative.
Clinamen is the Latin name Lucretius gave to the unpredictable swerve of atoms, in order to defend the atomistic doctrine of Epicurus.
The Anxiety of Influence, Melville's Epigrams, Windy sunsets are all inspiration behind Clinamen - Kasafilms short film. "Connected only by a Poetic Misreading," Greg Kotler describes the idea of connecting Lo-Fi pictures and field recordings, taken by film-director Bar Alon during her 2014 tenure in Paris.
The film makes a swerve away from a precursor, alluding to the proposition that the original work was only precise and accurate up until a particular end; at which point, the successive author makes the corrective motion.

Eastern Aleppo is now the epicenter of the Syrian conflict, forced to endure wave after wave of ferocious bombardment that threatens to reduce it to a pile of broken concrete and dust. With the pro-government forces’ latest push to seize control of the area, the conflict has turned more bitter and bloody than ever before. In a matter of days, Syrian government forces advancing on eastern Aleppo have captured new territories held by armed opposition groups, including the districts of Jabal Badro and Masaken Hanano, where at least 100 families are living. Since Nov. 25, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that 25,000 people have fled the besieged area.
Some of the area’s beleaguered residents have given up all hope of international action to halt their suffering. “There is nowhere to run or hide,” said one resident, Nizar. Before the latest assault, in anticipation of the renewed bombardment, another resident, Um Mohamed, said she felt it was only a matter of time “before hell is unleashed again.”
The Aleppo crisis is real. our hearts goes out to all our Syrian friends and families.
The worst thing happening at Syria is: the U.N co-operates with Assad's Regime; the west supports the "oppositions forces", thus leaving the regular citizen who don't partake in a selective political agenda in a deadly trap.
Here are some organization which are free from political agenda:
"Refait" is a remake of the football World Cup match between France and Germany (Seville, Spain, 1982). Shot by Pied La Biche in Villeurbanne (France), every aspect of the fifteen last minutes of the match was carefully reconstructed : players, positions, gestures, intensity, drama etc. It consists in shifting the traditional game area into the urban environment. Each sequence takes place in one or several locations and then the city temporarily becomes the lab for unusual experiments. The soundtrack is made up of the original commentaries mixed with interviews of the audience recorded during the shooting.
Massimo Vitali's "Beach Series" left Kasafilms HQ in trembles, and tingled the back of our spine. His unique and vivid imagery depicts in full the dissonance of human condition as an individual and as a community.
“the inner conditions and disturbances of normality: its cosmetic fakery, sexual innuendo, commodified leisure, deluded sense of affluence, and rigid conformism", as art historian Whitney Davis states. Using his camera as a tool for social research, Vitali creates striking images that are reminiscent of the historical practice of figurative and landscape painting.

Filmmaker Richard Mosse used a beautifully stunning technique to capture the harsh realities of the gold and mineral induced civil war of the Congo. Mosse filmed The Enclave with a vintage Kodak film called Aerochrome, an outdated infrared technology which reflects off chlorophyll but is not visible to the naked eye, captured on 16 mm film camera causing the subject matter to be bathed in striking shades of pink. The technique was developed in the early 40's originally used by the U.S. military during World War II to unearth camouflaged enemies laying in wait. Mosse portrays his subject with the concept of duality and a new perspective on the harsh conflict resides in the African wastelands, putting his subjects in a different visual realm through this unique color processing.

Conspiracy enthusiast rule their sphere with various topics of discussion from back “In the day”. With vast theories that rise from “Roswell UFO Incident” to the “Illuminati New Order”. One theory even came to life in the real world when “Watergate Scandal” departed, and eventually made Ronald Reagan resign from the "White House".
This short but in depth YouTube video, reached Kasafilms HQ by random browsing having a life of its own. With a fan base now reaching two million views worldwide. Making the average person really appreciate famed life theories as “pop phenomena”. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, “Back to the future” is an allegorical mile stone, especially when it comes to its icon fashion status, when it made us all in Kasafilms HQ wear Skinny Jeans. This year the fabled franchise celebrated 20 glorious years and it's far from being a “throwback” as it still entertaining and eye dropping as it's been when it was first created.
The Apophenia production team took an enormous challenge of convincing the broad audience with their newest theory. When implying that “BTTF" predicted the 9.11 terror attacks. With myriad different portrayals and hidden clues that are revealed miraculously throughout the film. Dwelling into the realm of synchromysticism, using the synchromystic world-view is that every-thing in the universe is connected.
Whether one believes in the occult aspect of synchromysticism or not, it’s a fascinating new field from a psychological, philosophical, aesthetic, anthropological, and/or quantum point of view. Synchromysticism reinforces the inter connectivity of everyone and everything, and empowers us to reinterpret social reality to in a sense “decode” the universe and ourselves.
Using synchromysticism as a new language or tool can help us forecast and respond to trends developing in the collective unconscious, noosphere, morphological field etc. – to reclaim culture and steer it in a more positive direction or, at the very least, provide a fun and interesting new application for mass media.
As it revealed through the film with a scene by scene breakdown and diverse shot selection this vigorous challenge handled in a profound matter. Making a comprehensive statement that is creative precise and enjoyable. When the creative behind this project mirrored and flipped various signs, Locations and character selection to portray their message.
Surprisingly enough we found out that the artistic director behind this fabulous project is no other than the talented Nadav Mor who produced a lot of Kasafilms recent projects. Teaming up together with his long-time friend and a basketball phenomenon Joe Alexander with his directorial debut. Kasafilms clearly indulges you to watch this film .

Art collides with commerce on Miami Beach
One of the key events on the calendars of the world’s artistic elite is Art Basel Miami. It’s a four-day extravaganza that sees galleries and artists scrabbling for the attention of collectors and investors seeking out the latest works to hang in their living rooms or adorn their own exhibition halls. But in recent years the event itself has become as much a strange, post-modern art piece as the works the 1,566 dealers in attendance this year are peddling – a place to be seen and to be photographed, where celebrity is as much a focus of attention as the art lining the walls. The real future of electronic literature
Many believe this is the real future of electronic literature. If it's hard to imagine a truly digital novel, it is because "we already have digital narratives—they're called videogames," argues Lincoln Michel of Electric Literature, a web site. Naomi Alderman, an award-winning British novelist who is also the author of "Zombies, Run!" a jogging app that has sold 2m copies, concurs. "There's nothing like a novel to take you into the individual consciousness of a writer. But there are things that are choice-based that only video games can do. For more info click HERE.

Chantal Akerman obituary
Chantal Akerman was commonly described as a Belgian film-maker, but this label hardly does justice to the breadth of her identity as an artist, nor to her nomadic nature. As well as filming in her native country, Akerman, who has died aged 65, apparently after taking her own life, worked extensively in the US, as well as in eastern Europe, Israel, Mexico, China and elsewhere, making fiction, documentary, experimental and essay films. She also made video and installation art. Click HERE for full article

Kasafilms crew has a special affair with sports, especially when it hits our medium of choice. Recently "The BS Podcast" one of our favorite sports shows on the planet, discussed which basketball player had the best on screen performance. The surprising choice was of one athlete by the name of Bernard King (A name that will spark up some basketball Geeks )."Fastbreak" synopsis- David Greene is a New York basketball enthusiast, who wants to coach. He is then offered the coaching job at a small Nevada college. He brings along some players, who are a bit odd but good. Like Swish who unknown to the rest of the team is a girl. Preacher, who's being sought by some nefarious characters. And D.C., who's a fugitive. And along with some of the students at the college, he turns them into a contender. In order to give the team the respect they deserve and some exposure, Greene schemes to try and get the number 1 team led by Bo Winnegar, to play them.

“Masculin, féminin , Jean-Luc Godard 1966”
When those tragic attacks hit Paris over this weekend we found out at Kasafilms HQ the necessary recipe for fighting those evil forces, and it's through culture. Where for us being those cinematic geeks that we are. It wasn't too hard to pin point to a movie that changed how we see the world. Jean Luc Godard basically made it hard for directors to make films. His ingenuity and creativity is known for decades. But this unique piece celebrates youth culture and life. Kasafilms Salutes French Culture and it's spirit. Watch the trailer here.
“Derek Ridgers captures the dance floor spirit of the 80's”
Impassioned kisses on the dance floor, heads of hair whipping, exhausted revelers crumpled on the floor near the wallflowers – all of it has been captured without reserve by Derek Ridgers in his new book, The Others. “Meet the designers of NYC's Latin club night posters”
Sometimes, the same design is taped, stapled or wheatpasted over and over on the facade of a building, contributing to a kind of wall effect. Other times, different designs are thrown up side by side in a more indiscriminate fashion, on scaffolding or lamposts. This subeconomy is remarkably efficient: once an event is over, the flyers disappear seemingly overnight, only to be swapped out by new ones just as quickly. After they’re posted, they seldom stay up for more than a week or two, earning them the name short-run posters. For more info click here.

Sim Hutchins "I enjoy to sweep a room"
Grim tales of YouTube techno infused tracks. I spent a lot of time alone making this record, to the point where I was isolating myself from the outside world a bit. This controlled and insular approach had a huge impact on the record's sound, and at some points I feared it was a bit too revealing. “Tie Me To A Rocket” was made to represent an ending to the album's agitated and nihilistic narrative, it's an optimistic letting-go of sorts. Less: “nothing matters,” more: “what does it matter?”
Coming from a scientist, this sounds smug, but here it is: science is one of humanity’s most noble and successful endeavours, and our best way to learn how the world works. We know more than ever about our own bodies, the biosphere, the planet and even the cosmos. We take pictures of Pluto, unravel quantum mechanics, synthesise complex chemicals and can peer into (as well as manipulate) the workings of DNA, not to mention our brains and, increasingly, even our diseases.
Canadian artist Scott Sueme’s latest series of paintings have a sporty theme from swimming pools to concrete playgrounds. Focusing on unusual angles or honing in on the abstract details allows Scott to provide an alternative perspective of these typically active places.
Pretty much all of Jean-Luc Godard's films are essential viewing, especially the work he did in the 60s. Masculin Féminin is one of those films that reminds you of your youth -- it meanders, it takes its time, it's rebellious, and a little angsty. It doesn't care if it captures your attention, because it's going to exist whether you like it or not.

Kasafilms HQ got mesmerized by this short Argentine documentary and its glorious static camera story telling. La Reina is a journey of an argentine girl on her path to become a carnival dancer. With this simple plot lays a unique approach to documentary work, where the decision to set the dialogue of the characters outside the frame. Making this child a subject of circumstances, and that her faith isn’t really hers. While grownups in form of coaches stylist and family members dictate her so called will.
The static camera and those close up shots. Tell a story of a different kind where most of the actions are not visible to the audience while all in frame actions are merely a reaction to the surrounding. This feel is portrait through the film and contributing to the plot Mystery. As if the girl doesn’t really wants to be a carnival queen where her desires are hidden from us unknowing her future and mostly living the life dictated by grownups.
Throughout our documentary work Kasafilms used many archival footage from many different kinds of platforms. Searching for hidden treasures on the world wide web. archive.org was all always our go to place. Recently we stumbled on this amazing collection of Kmart in store background music recorded on tape cassette from late 80's until early 90's.
This cheesy atmospheric music is a vintage heaven, mainly for music geeks and enthusiastic crate diggers. That tape hiss sound reminds us of those great times when we used to run tape decks for fun. The best parts are the in house commercial brakes reminding people on this week sales. The full catalog presented in the following link.

Mark Davis worked behind the Service Desk at the Naperville, IL Kmart in the late '80s and early '90s. Every month, corporate office issued a cassette to be played over the store speaker system — canned elevator-type music with advertisements seeded every few tracks. Around 1991, the muzak was replaced with mainstream hits, and the following year, new tapes began arriving weekly. The cassettes were supposed to be thrown away, but Davis dutifully slipped each tape into his apron pocket to save for posterity. He collected this strange discount department store ephemera until 1993, when background music began being piped in via satellite service.

2073
The Eshaton. A swarm of asteroids from the far ends of the universe travels toward earth, ushering the end of humanity.
2595
500 years have passed. Earth is engulfed by a new ice age. Glaciers are carving their way through the old world. America, Asia, Australia have fallen. Only Europe and Africa are left as habitable zones. While Europe is caked in ice and snow, Africa has blossomed into a subtropical paradise. The Axis of the world is once again the Mediterranean Sea.
And Mankind hasn‘t given up just yet. From the ashes of a destroyed civilization, a new one has risen. Cults, clans and tribes are fighting for dominance in a world that is being reborn.
Apocalyptic sects raise fortresses in the landscape. Clans form new cities. Border towns rise from the settling asteroid dust. A whole people are on the move to harvest the artifacts of the lost generations. To rebuild earth in a new and glorious fashion.
But in the shadows of the craters something is moving. A strange virus that was traveling underneath the icy shell of the asteroids has started infecting humanity‘s DNA. The virus, called the Primer, is starting to mutate people who get in touch with it, transforming them, turning them into a new apex predator, a new race of human beings.
It‘s the birth of Homo Degenesis.
And this newcomer has the power to wrestle Homo Sapiens from the top of the food chain. Equipped with psychic powers beyond measure, Homo Degenesis has declared war on the upstart mankind, and man will fight back with full force. The battle for earth‘s legacy has begun.
Cults dominate the societies of the post apocalyptic world. These cults have enormous economical, political or religious power. Their struggles shatter the reborn settlements and make the earth tremble. Each of them has it‘s vision of a civilization blossoming under their tenure and each of them will do the impossible to make their goals come true.
But the dominance of the cults is being tested for the first time. Across the wastelands the old clans rise. United by hate, the clans wage war under new banners, destroying the power structures that once held them at bay. Everything is at stake, and in the wake of the onslaught, the cults will have to make their stand.
This is their legacy.
Kasafilms has been fortuned enough to collaborate on some new projects with Sixmorevodka, please keep in mind its going to be awesome.
It seems hard to note exactly when we, over at Kasafilms, realised this perfect audio visual combination.. But it was probably somewhere between Anderson Paak's seamless lyrics and Calmatic's depiction of his 'candy paint' ride and the sock-slipper combination represented by Knwwledge.
Smoother than a motherfucker
Suede on the inside
Candy paint, candy paint
I ain't gotta tell you what the rims look like
Look, I'm gripping wood like a motherfucker
She ask me can her friend ride
Kelly wanna have a drink
And shorty wanna pop pills all night
Look, don't be fucking with my tape deck
You gon' listen to this Marvin
Kasafilms had this amazing pleasure to be a part of this super inspiring photo-shoot for the Israeli based brand in a photo-shoot that took place in Berlin. Spread the word tell a friend. Kasafilms are all so creating nice one frame shots that tell a story.
Kasafilms was gladly happy to assist the extremely talented Anna Lann with her debut video for her first EP.
"Paris intro" is a real "Dare Devil". The exploding synth bass hook is a true classic, the drone atmosphere was made to take Anna's storytelling abilities and make them come to life.
Anna is one gifted individual and she constantly on our radar for any audio visual production.
we were for more than happy to be evolved in such amazing project.
This week Kasafilms is all about science and its fiction to say the least. if to consider one being a nerd and explore the realms of that unique topic. Black Holes was always our keen interest so we decided to share this amazing post that contains to much information, please consider it wisely.
Partially inspired by a conversation about Christopher Nolan’s film Interstellar, we wondered what it’d be like to actually go through a black hole. Has anyone ever tried sending a camera through a black hole? Can any of that information (the pictures) be retrieved? What would we see? We talked to astrophysicists, theoretical physicists, NASA scientists, and science-fiction writers to get the answers.

Judging this project by it's name will sounds a lot like it was taken from a polish Nouvelle Vague cinema. but don't be mistaken this is a mind // paper bending experience. To explore this idea, Dana developed 12 processed-folding objects series, using custom built software in Processing and various physical techniques – printing, twisting, laser-cutting, knotting and framing. Both the digital tools and the physical techniques were used systematically in order to explore spatial, structural & geometrical conditions, leading to the emergence of prototypes. Dana used sheets of “Shrinky-Dinks”, a shrinkable pre-stressed polystyrene sheets that are used commercially in kids’ creativity kits. After creating various black and white patterns in Processing, she printed them on the sheets in black, using a simple desktop printer, and then induced folding by placing the sheets under an IR light bulb at a set distance. The printed sheets folded repeatedly within seconds upon exposure to the light, according to the black-line patterns. The energy from the light gets absorbed preferentially by the black line, which acts as a hinge because it converts the light effectively into heat. The heat relaxes the polymer directly under the hinge region in a gradient across the sheet thickness. God bless her and this amazing imagery this is imagery looks like it's been taken from Nasa.

Stephen Bruner aka Thundercat released another jem, produced by Flying Lotus. We dig the music that's no lie! but this piece of visual heaven is whole different story. It is a neon light driven ghetto samurai romance. Cooked by the amazing Carlos Lopez Estrada. Dig in and sharpen your swords by all means necessary.

We find it hard to believe this reclusive and gray social communist state could still spark this kind of interests all over the world. But this amazing photo diary takes to place never seen before name of Mindy Tan got that glimpse to what a few people have a chance to explore before. With the Various media outlets accruing today there is type of romance to this price possession of hierarchy. These various images makes Kasafilms creative juice flow and this hot weather
"When I walk into the dining bus for breakfast and the crew are asking if I have any idea what shot we’re starting with."
"When you’re panning during the take and you discover the runner on their first day is frantically trying to wedge themselves out of the way into the corner of the set."
"When there’s the chance of an awesome job offer but it means cancelling a holiday with my wife."
This is southern hospitality at its fullest. This intimate photo exhibition represents all kasafilms secret desires and wishes from African Americans street culture. Photographer Ivar Wigan captures prefect moments of this thing that is called the dirty south.
This short documentary is all about Kasafilms aesthetics, it has less the 300 views and it got us emotional. So we decided to dig it out especially for you.
Kasafilms HQ got its music weekend vitamins through this amazing release by "Throwing shade" that's what we describe as pop music. check her out right here!
Drawing in iridescent strains of popular music – from African and Asian modes to the grimey axis of London’s contemporary sound narrative –
Throwing Shade creates a diverse and abstract sound patchwork intangibly borne in the here-and-now.
The rapper from Long Beach, Vince Staples, made his comeback with the title "Señorita" a small bomb sublimated by featuring unstoppable of Future .
To celebrate its release, Lan Pons Jewel adorns a rather creepy video in what appears to be a suburb where residents were shot down by snipers stashed. Heavy and cumbersome aesthetics of this clip, supported by colorimetry black and white, will capture you in less time than it takes to say in this apocalyptic world.
Kasafilms just found this at "ECF Labs" and its just blew our mind.
Lurking is a dance-video piece, made in Tel Aviv in 2014. The project involved wandering around the white city, together with my partner -- the photographer Tamuz Rachman -- looking for hope and dialogue in the midst of the ongoing sirens and violence. We strived to find unique ways to move in the city, following the city curves, rather than imposing a pre-conceived choreography onto its walls. Conversing and collaborating, rather than forcing. Dancing with- rather than fighting with-. During 2015, it was screened in the CINEDANS Festival (Amsterdam), in Festival Nomade (Montreal), in Wandering Expo (Jerusalem). On May 21st, the video will be part of the official selection of the International Video Dance Festival of Burgundy. This year's topic of the festival is "Politics of Space", directly relevant to the quest of Lurking: to engage in a spatial dialogue with the urban environment, inviting the walls of the city to dance along.

‘Failure Auto save’ is a preserved collection of "found footage". A collage of retired projects that were resuscitated and removed from their original form, the ideology lays within the adaptation of the existing narrative. The script offers an abstract observation of highly desired failed efforts.
Visually we witness memories, flashbacks, a commentary that purposely does not flow however we understand each character has a valid connection to the plot. Written as an intimate dialogue between the metaphorical imagery and the nostalgic precise memories of the past. The poetic script filters the tragedy in addition to the use of mixed medias so we are left with a distillation of the truth.
Shot within various locations set in a diverse mixture of continents between Europe and the Middle East. This mosaic of film represents diverse art forms in order to emphasize and express the realization and feeling of devoting yourself to an act you wholeheartedly strive to achieve and miserably fail, nethertheless you invest every ounce of belief. This film focuses on the romance of failure, the journey that we perceive as progress, the path we dedicate to following our dreams, the surrealistic serenity and Somber tone that blankets our calm failed yet happy triumphs.
"Found footage" as we see it, is simply progress that has been captured however left isolated, as a result of ambitious daily conflict with ones personal vision of ‘making it’ we neglect the importance of reflection.
